"Okay, I'm one of those super duper procrastinators that does not go to the dentist unless my teeth make me cry. Shameful, I know.Anyway, I felt bad that we are paying $$ for our Metlife Dental and not using our benefits. I finally upped and made appointments for me, my husband, and our three kids. My kids, I knew were going to be fine, I actually take them, but their last dentist was somewhere out in the boondocks and we needed a new one closer to home. I made my appt. first. Figured if I didn't like them, I wouldn't subject my kids to them. Well, Karen, in the front desk helped me out greatly. Verified my ins., made my appointment, made a friendly little reminder call the day before, all that good stuff. She even sent me all of our forms so I wouldn't have to come in early to fill them out. When I got in, she was nice and helpful and prompt. The moment my butt sat down on one of the waiting room chairs, Tammy, the hygienist called me in. Nice not to wait, but dang, the Dr. had some good magazines I wanted to read. Oh well. Tammy was great. I confessed how awful and shameful I was for knowingly ignoring my teeth. She did not give me the guilt trip my childhood dentist used to give me (hmmm, I wonder why I don't go to dentists?). She was encouraging and skillful with her xray placements. The cleaning and gum exam wasn't bad at all, not a day in the park, but not terrible. She was top notch with that suction thing which is A+ for me. I've felt like I were drowning at some other cleanings when they would forget to suction. Tammy also ended up doing my 11 year old sons a few weeks later and he thought she was great, too. Dr. Wong does the exam. He's nice, kinda quiet, very young. The exam was quick and he explained everything I need done as we looked at my x-rays. He welcomed any questions that I had and seemed very laid back with my kids and myself. He cleaned my 7 year old daughter's teeth and she did not complain once and said it was fine. Of course, she was more interested in the prize chest. He's gonna give me a crown on my sad neglected #18 in a couple of weeks. Why oh why do I procrastinate!?"
